Welcome to my Blog

Hello and thank you for taking the time to read this blog.

My name is Dr Chris Gunnell and I have been an obstetrician and gynaecologist for a very long time! I started my training at King Edward Memorial Hospital (KEMH) in Perth, Western Australia in 1990 which means that I’ve been working in women’s health for nearly 35 years. This is over half of my life!

So, why have I suddenly decided to write a blog?

First and foremost, I want to reflect on my extensive career and relive (and share) a few of the remarkable experiences I have encountered throughout this period. Additionally, I wish to pass on some of my accumulated wisdom. Regrettably, I never kept track of the number of babies I've brought into the world. However, with some creative calculation, I estimate it is nearing 10,000. I reckon this grants me the authority to boldly share my opinion on any matter concerning childbirth. Don't you think?

One of the objectives is to address the confusing or misleading information circulating in the current age of social media and online searching. A significant portion of my time is dedicated to clarifying confusing or contentious issues with my patients. As a doctor, educator, and scientist, evidence-based research plays a crucial role in how myself and fellow obstetricians approach pregnancy, childbirth, and labour in today's society. My goal is to help women navigate through this complex environment.

I hope to mix around posts of personal anecdotes (de-identified of course), opinions and evidence based information about a variety of women’s health issues. And I also want to have some fun!

Dr. Gunnell’s reflections on his extensive career raise important questions about the credibility of information in today’s digital landscape. As he navigates the complexities of women’s health, the emphasis on evidence-based research is crucial. In this context, his experiences provide a unique lens through which we can analyze the concept of Fairgo in the medical field, ensuring equitable access to accurate health information.

The blog raises interesting points about the intersection of experience and information dissemination in women's health. As Dr. Gunnell shares personal anecdotes and opinions, it highlights the need for evidence-based practices amidst the chaos of misleading information. The mention of tools like Pay ID https://lionandwolf.co/ could simplify transactions for consultations, reflecting how technology can enhance patient access.

It's intriguing to see how a seasoned professional like Dr. Gunnell chooses to navigate the complexities of women's health in a world inundated with misinformation. The increasing reliance on social media for health advice often leads to misconceptions. Just as The Pokies https://oneanother.io/ can lead players to gamble recklessly, so too can unverified information misguide expectant mothers. A thoughtful approach is essential.
